Our Big Boy

We had Mason's 2 month check-up and shots yesterday and it was good and bad. Watching your innocent baby go from smiles and coos to screaming wails was one of the worst things for us. Dash had the 'honor' of holding Mason while he got his shots because I didn't want to. Luckily, he fell asleep on the car ride home but yesterday was hard for him. Every time he kicked his legs (his legs never stop moving when he's awake) he started screaming. He's better now and we've been 'talking' all morning about how his shots are good for him!

The good thing is our big boy is growing so well. Mason now comes in at a whooping 13 lbs. 10 ounces (90th percentile)! And is 23 1/2 inches long (75th percentile)! He loves to 'talk' to everybody and smiles all the time. His favorite toy is the kick 'n play that Aunt Ruth left us and he really gets it going! He's still sleeping very well at night but hates to nap in his crib during the day. He wants to be in the middle of everything, even while he's sleeping!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! Mason and his mama got a treat because we got 2 full days with Dash. He's been so busy at work since getting a promotion that usually we only get to spend Sunday together. This past Saturday we went to an Easter picnic and egg hunt at church. Can you believe Mason didn't pull his weight in the egg hunt? No eggs! Well, I guess it would have been obvious that they weren't for him after all and his parents definitely don't need any!

I can so hear Dash saying, "So... this is my baby."

Yes, we had the fussy baby at the picnic.

Easter Sunday brought nasty weather to the Houston area with tornado warnings and watches, so we stayed inside all day. Dash read us the Easter story and I read the Easter story to Mason out of his Jesus Storybook Bible. He snored through the whole thing!

Remember these two? Maddy and Cooper loved watching the storms roll in.
Here's some smiles from our little Easter bunny who turns 2 months this Friday! Can't wait to see how much he has grown at his appointment next week. I only have 4 weeks left of maternity leave so I better quit blogging and get the most out of them! We hope everyone had a great long weekend!

Shhhh... he's sleeping

So this is what it feels like to sleep through the night two nights in a row! I'd almost forgotten. As I right this, I'm hesitating over the delete key so I don't bring on the jinx fairy too, but Mason has slept 7+ hours the past two nights and it has been amazing. No naps needed for this mama. He slept through the night a week ago or so, but I thought that was just a fluke. We're guessing the combination of our little boy being so much more alert and awake during the day and his night bottle to fill his tummy may be doing some wonders. Let's keep this up Mason Samuel!

He is getting so big too! Over 12 pounds now and getting too long for his 0-3 month clothes at only 7 weeks! He loves to bat at his toys and babble at them. And he gives the best smiles for just about anyone.

This weekend should be fun for our family - an Easter picnic and egg hunt on Saturday and off to a "farm" on Sunday after church. Have a great Easter weekend everyone!
